Day 5: Seeking Solace
Dare stared at the solemn grave marker with little interest. “I don’t see the point of a headstone if there’s nothing underneath it.”
“It’s meant to give you closure, Dare.” Doc muttered over the whipping wind.
“Closure…” the woman grunted, sticking a cigarette between her lips. “Sounds stupid.”
“It’ll be good for you, dumbass…” Doc raised his hand to her shoulder and squeezed lightly before turning and leaving her with the lone grave. “It’ll be good for you.”
There is an ocean of difference between be anti______ and being critical of a doctrine. You should always be critical of ideologies- especially those you agree with. Letting people on your ‘team’ get away with things they shouldn’t just because you’re part of the same movement leads to fanaticism.
Strength is being able to crush a tomato.
Dexterity is being able to dodge a tomato.
Constitution is being able to eat a bad tomato.
Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is knowing not to put a tomato in a fruit salad.
Charisma is being able to sell a tomato based fruit salad.
Yeah, i don’t normally make shit like this, but I feel like this needed to be said.
Because why is it okay to hate the majority on this website, but the minute someone says something about a minority (which is just as wrong), they’re bombarded by so much hate that they often delete their blogs?
Let’s look at ourselves, guys. Hating an entire group for the actions of a few, or for something that they literally cannot help (i.e. the color of their skin), isn’t helping anything, and is pushing away the equality that we often say we want so desperately.
Sometimes women warriors have lives outside of slaying beasts and decimating armies! Not often, though.
This is one of two pieces I have in the WOMEN WARRIORS ZINE that I have been putting together along with my two mighty collaborators Abby Boeh and Julia Scott! This FANTASTIC BEAST OF A ZINE will be debuting at MoCCA and include the artwork of over 25 truly excellent illustrators, so please check it out come April 6th & 7th in NYC!
Making a big zine like this has been a truly amazing experience. I’m blown away by the amount of interest in the project, but above all, I’m truly humbled by the variety and sheer talent of everyone who’s contributed.

One time I came up with the best insult ever.
One day when my sister was rambling about nonsense at the kitchen table, I was standing by the stove where I was cooking some hotdogs for her. When I replied to her ramblings, saying that she was weird, she retorted by calling me “Stupid.”
